Haemophilia is the genetic disorder that impairs the body's ability to control blood clottingHaemophilia is also spelled hemophilia in North America. Haemophilia can be mild, moderate, or severe depending on how much clotting factor is in your blood. About 7/10 people who have Haemophilia have a severe case. Haemophilia is usually inherited. Rarely Haemophilia can be acquired, which means that you are not born with it but develop it during your life time. This can happen if antibiotics form in your body and attack the clotting factors in your blood stream.
